About HousingAnywhere

HousingAnywhere is Europe's largest rental accommodation marketplace. With the full ownership of Kamernet and the acquisition of majority stakes of Studapart, the company represents 20 million+ yearly unique visitors, 160,000+ properties available for rent and 96,000+ tenants finding their new homes in Europe, based on the 2021 performance. Young professionals and students, mostly aged between 18 and 35, looking to rent a home are matched with accommodation providers; ranging from private real estate owners to large-scale property managers. Through its advanced platform, tenants typically book for longer stays outside of their country of origin and rent accommodation for 3 to 12 months. The company aims to help 130,000+ people find a home in Europe in 2022. The Rotterdam-based technology scale-up currently employs 260 people.

Your impact

Over the past couple of years, HousingAnywhere has grown exponentially and we aim to double our business in upcoming years. As a Data Scientist you will be instrumental in achieving that growth. You will be joining the data science group within our Data team in the Engineering department. This group is just being formed and you will be only the second member of the group. As such you will have a big impact on the success of the group. As a data scientist you will use your skills in machine learning to work on projects with high impact. These projects will cover a wide range of ML applications: from computer vision to recommendation systems, and from fraud detection to forecasting.

Our Stack

At HousingAnywhere, we use Google Cloud Platform where we have a couple of machine learning models in production via Docker containers running on a Kubernetes cluster which are fully integrated with HousingAnywhere's marketplace. Beyond that we are currently creating an MLOps framework to further streamline development and operations of our machine learning models.

About you

Your role:

• Build, deploy, and manage machine learning models
• Debug data pipelines and model behaviour in production environment
• Improve our MLOps framework
• Collaborate with stakeholders on joint projects
• Contribute to data science roadmap and help grow the data science practice at HousingAnywhere

Your Profile:

We are looking for talented people that are passionate about data science. These people might have the below listed attributes. If you have taken a different path, but are excited about applying your data science skills at HousingAnywhere do not hesitate to apply.

• 4 years of experience in data science
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms
• Python programming experience focused on common data science toolkits such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, and MLFlow
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL.
• Built machine learning models that are used within applications such as mobile apps or web platforms
• Experience with production machine learning life cycle management and MLOps tools
• Experience with proper software development practices (e.g. documentation, version control, and testing)
• Cloud experience (in particular GCP)
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to synthesise insights into compelling stories
• Obsessed with personal growth and learning
